How do they expect us to believe that many hockey players are straight. We've all see the heated truth about hockey. I prefer my rom com to have some reality to them. The cast is doing its best to work with the material, but it's very apparent even they believe that Garrett would fake dating her just to actually date her.

The characters are cliche and make lots of weird decisions that make no sense. Ofc the main characters have a sad backstory. That's kind of it for their personality as well. If you wanna watch this movie then maybe as a comedy. The plot, character and cliches are definitely laughable. All in all the show is a big disappointment especially considering how good the ratings are. I normally don't mind a low quality romance with lots of cliche, but this show really crosses the line of stupidity.

The casting of the main characters (Garett & Hannah) were good. They fit the character perfect. Allie was a great casting and style tooo. However, there are some casting that just don't fit the part such as Jules Jordan. For starters that just so unrealstic, she looks nothing like Logan, also who would let their little sister hang around and gossip just seems unrealistic. The character/actress just felt so forced. Also, why did the costume team dress her like that, Jules is my only complaint. All other casting was decent.

Another casting I wasn't a fan of, Joanna Maxwell. Terrible casting for both these characters.

First few episodes were GREAT, episode 5 was okay nothing great. Then episode 6+ started getting good.

Some scenes felt cliche, forced.

There were so many scenes that felt forced and the acting felt immature with fmc. The scenes themselves felt so cheesy and could have been been portrayed so much better. I believe that was a director issue. Im hoping season 2 will feel more natural. I also like those 2 characters and their acting so much more.

The scenes are weirdly cut. Post-production work was done poorly. In addition, this fisheye lens on most of the shots.

Plot is empty. But overall it doesn't give you any details of characters or their past. Just random flashbacks and you need to guess what it even means.

Actors are mostly playing with pokerface (apart of Allie and John).

Not sure where the hype came from, but you can find more watchable romance tv shows.

This book to show adaptation is equivalent to Lacroix; bubbly with a hint of flavor but just full of disappointment. It was so far from an adaptation and didn't do the books justice at all. So many major changes to both characters and story lines. The acting by some of the cast was so stiff and instantly took me out of the scene.

Also, gratuitous boob and penis shots. So tired of seeing unnecessary nudity for shock value.

The title of my review says it all. Not much more to write about. But I must point out that many reviews are saying that the producers wanted to cash in on the Heated Rivalry success. Wrong. In fact, Off Campus was made before Heated Rivalry and it's release was postponed partially due to after effects of COVID.

The show was fine. Nothing innovative. The lead was decent but it felt like a Disney show with sex in it with a stale story. This story has been told. The acting by the side characters are mediocre which pulls you out of it as does the bad dialogue. Over all watchable but shows like Sumer I turned Pretty has more emotional depth. Not really invested in the characters.

Quite bad acting and story, nice bodies.

The A/V review said exactly what I thought.

"It all feels so algorithm-driven that much of Off Campus plays like those "spicy" vertical dramas currently interrupting Instagram Reels and TikTok binges with soul-crushing short-form romance."

The actors look good, especially shirtless, but the acting, writing, directing are all quite bad. It is also worth noting that somehow not a single LGBT character seems present in this rondelet of college angst. It is for younger women and girls who enjoyed the book and like romance novels and as that, I think it might be fine. But for a general audience, it's a 3.

Watching the hockey scenes was painful. I don't think they had any real hockey players consulting or doing the stunts. The slowest and most inaccurate thing I've ever seen lol. Please bring in the hockey guys for next season. They visited the set. Get them a job. I also hated the actor for graham. He was good but he looks nothing like what hockey players look like.

Viewers who haven't read the book(s) might find it enjoyable, but for book-first fans, this show misses the mark. So many unnecessary plot changes, starting from the very first scene, mean the show diverges from the book way too much. The actors lack chemistry, the dialogue is cringey, and the music was overwhelming. The invented character with a gossip site and hockey commentary was annoying and so pointless. What a useless addition. Gratuitous nudity just to make the show edgy? A poor adaptation of a well-loved book.

As a book reader, this show is so disappointing. Hannah and Garrett are the only good thing about this show. What they've done to Allie is so frustrating. The other side characters are just mid, except for Logan who is the only one who isn't give enough screen time. I understand that things change from book to screen, but this is just not a good adaptation.

I'm so disappointed with this adaptation. What's the point of making a series if you're going to skip all the 'golden details' from the books? Everything feels rushed; the main couple was already together by episode four, which makes no sense. By omitting the most meaningful parts of the story, the plot loses its heart.

Regarding the acting, while the leads weren't terrible, the constant long pauses and 'dramatic' stares were uncomfortable and felt forced. It's also clear the producers were desperate to sell the show through excessive sex scenes. Instead of building mystery or tension, the over-reliance on spice makes the whole thing feel cheap and takes away the desire to keep watching.

Actors did good job but the script was so weak and it was so predictable just like many other high school romance shows. Nothing special. Overhyped for sure.

After watching K-dramas, these types of shows start looking very immature in terms of writing and emotional depth. The show keeps following the same formula again and again attractive cast, forced drama, misunderstandings, random emotional scenes, and unrealistic college behavior. You can predict almost every scene before it even happens.

The chemistry between actors was decent and they tried their best with whatever material they got but strong acting alone cannot save weak storytelling. Most side characters felt underdeveloped and many emotional moments didn't feel earned. Instead of building characters naturally.. the show depends too much on cliches and fan service moments.

I expected something fresh because of all the hype online, but honestly it felt like just another average teen drama stretched into multiple episodes. Some scenes were entertaining, but overall it lacked maturity, emotional realism, and memorable writing. It's watchable if you want light entertainment but definitely not the masterpiece people are making it out to be.

I'm so sad right now. I loved the book so much and was so excited when the show was announced. But the only good thing about the show was the cast (mostly), everything else was just devastating. They missed the feel of the books completely, like the 80ies inspired musical theme just makes no sense. The showrunners took a romantic and down to earth story and made it into a ridiculous stereotype circus.

I genuinely think this might be one of the worst book adaptations I've ever watched after "It Ends With Us."

The entire charm of the books was the humour, chemistry, and chaotic banter, yet the show somehow managed to turn every interaction into a slow-burn therapy session with Hannah shaking and crying.

Hannah feels less like an actual character and more like y/n. Every scene is the same trembling lips, watery eyes, stuttering, furrowed brows, and painfully awkward pauses. We get it. She's traumatised. But when every emotion is treated like the end of the world, it becomes exhausting instead of impactful.

Most of the time, she's figuring how to increase noise pollution with her awful songs and her soulless lyrics. She was also a horribly self-centred friend.

And Garrett? Where did his personality go? Book Garrett was cocky, playful, funny, and naturally charismatic. Show Garrett acts like he's permanently sedated and communicating through intense eye contact only.

Also whoever styled Allie deserves a raise, and whoever styled Hannah needs to be investigated immediately because why is she dressed like a nervous Pinterest board in every scene. Hannah's wardrobe literally pmo to the point where I didn't feel like watching anymore.

Whoever casted Hannah also needs to be fired bc why is the actress shaking, crying, flaring her nostrils and quivering her lips 24/7. Really took away the appeal of the chemistry b/w the characters.

Dean and Allie COMPLETELY outshine them because they actually feel alive. Their banter is messy, entertaining, and believable, while Hannah and Garrett feel overly curated and weirdly emotionless despite all the crying.

Hope the same script isn't used for Dean and Allie bc WTH was this, I deadass expect less appearances of Hannah and Garret next season, they'll ruin it.

I mean the two can't even solve the reason they're so caught up and distracted. The continuous flashbacks lowk made my head hurt like if u cant do anything about it why torture us?

They annoyed me to the point where I skipped over to the dean and allie parts, whoever wrote those needs to write the entirety of the next season.

Imagine a series being so bad you have to make an imdb account to write a review for the first time ever.

If you were to ever get your place in college in the States and end up at an institution like the fictitious Briar University, you'd realise pretty quickly that you messed up big time. From what I gather from the first episode of Off Campus, to get in you have to be devilishly handome and ripped, be a closeted homosexual and give off major idiot vibes. All the characters are immensely annoying and their college and social plight irrelevant. You endure and wait for the cheesefest to settle but it never comes. It's Twilight without the vampires. It's American Pie without any of the humour or endearing characters. If you can stomach it, give it a watch. I warned you!

Bad book adaptation but good show! I was not that mad about the changes while watching but so much key moments were missed from The Deal. It felt like watching TheDeal and TheScore in one season. Honestly don't know what would Dean and Allie's season would look like.

Also they ruined Allies character and Hunter and Dean's relationship.

While I appreciate the acting and think everyone did a great job. I did not believe some of the characters were the best for their roles. The writing...why change how the author envisioned it. I hate when they change the descriptions or add/take away from what matters. The writers shouldnt have changed as much as they did! Book was just so much better.

Honestly everything i liked about this-the backstories, the cheesy plot, the messy friend group-came from the books. So, to me, this begs the question: what did the tv show have to add to that? Nothing. The production seemed cheap and there was no chemistry whatsoever between the romantic leads. Except for a few songs which i can only assume ate up all the budget for music, the background music is boring stock music. There wasn't any real feeling in this. And this could be a subjective perception, but i didn't buy the on the nose acting. There wasn't any subtlety to it.
