This show sucked so hard I wanted to die. Why was there so many stories going on? Why was Allie and Dean story even in this season? They ruined it for me. They should've focused on only Hannah and Garret. There was a lot of boring scenes and why did they reply the same moments from their past? I wished I never picked this up.

How did the people who read the books first even like this?! That is my only question. The scenes which i felt really built their chemistry were cut off and absolute unnecessary garbage scenes took their place. And oh my god what was up with the intimate and naked scenes? Just disgusting atp.

DNF after 5th ep.

First of all this was the most stupidest mid plots Ive seen in my life which was so hyped up.. Garrette looks old then those who are shouting that it was green flag everyone was good... so what do you have to say about Hannah asking for O so she can be ready for the person she loves.... ? Is this normal ? Make it make sense...

I wanted to enjoy this show, but the audio kept pulling me out of the story. The dialogue sounds like the actors are talking in their heads rather than actually speaking in the scene. The voices feel disconnected from the environment, and the lip sync often seems slightly off. Because of that, I couldn't connect with the characters or their chemistry, even though the premise had potential.

This is by far the worst tv show i've ever seen especially because the book series is one of the best i ever read so after watching the first season i was disappointed to see how bad it turned out I for sure could never recommend something so bad in fact i'd rather say it's a waste of time watching it so don't bother to do it.

It's weird, move on, be original. It's corny. It's boring. It's strange there is a weird obsession for this age bracket.

My review is too short apparently. I wasted 30mins, the acting was poor. Once you watch one teen drama with teenagers acting in certain manners you've literally seen them all.

Can we as a society please try harder and not watch this type of thing.

They changed EVERYTHING! If you've read the book(s), you might want to skip this. And, yes, the books ARE better. Why did Prime even bother to option this if they weren't going to stick to the book? I did try to finish it, but I did ALOT of skipping once I realized how much they changed, but, hey, they kept the names the same, so maybe that counts for something? 🙄

Cliché, heteronormative basic characters with no depth, jocks and lame male leads we've already seen a thousand times before. The dialogue is painfully cringeworthy, the plot is completely predictable, and the gratuitous nudity feels like a substitute for actual storytelling. Every character seems to be built from the most overused teen-drama stereotypes imaginable, with no nuance or originality whatsoever.

What genuinely confuses me is how so many people are rating this an 8/10. Are we watching the same show? I can appreciate light entertainment when it's done well, but this feels like a collection of clichés stitched together into a script. The relationships are unconvincing, the emotional moments feel forced, and the writing never rises above the level of a generic made-for-TV movie.

Honestly, I've seen Hallmark movies with more believable characters, sharper dialogue, and better storytelling. If this had been a Hallmark production, I would've rated it a 2/10. As it stands, it's one of the most disappointing and overrated series I've watched in a long time. 1/10.

My Lord, this show is so bad. Cliche after cliche. It's like a cheesy daytime soap opera but a very graphic one. Every single person is perfect looking. Male full nudity from every angle, and male objectification to the extreme with so many topless men. Shouldn't everyone be criticizing male graphic nudity and male objectification? Female topless nudity and female objectification is criticized so constantly that it's almost non-existent now. We need to do the same for men. Unfortunately, these are the shows that appeal to women all the time. The dialog is very cheesy and cliche as well. Some of it just made me shake my head.

I tried to give it a chance but I am so disapointed for so many reasons. First, all girls a represented almost as trophees in this serie and men need to fight to win them. They are all sexualized and learn they need to be sexy and perfect for a boy to love them. The more they are hard to get, the more boys will love them. The main girl even try to tell her bounderies but the dude doesn't seem to care and tell her what to do anyway. The main dude even sleep with so many girls that love him and he doesn't care too. He just play whit their feelings. What does it show to our teenagers? It is so sad to know that thousands of girls and boys watch this show thinking that's real life, that what they need to do to be loved and respected by cool guys (as if it was the most important thing) is to be perfect, white, skinny and sexy. I really though it was known today that this kind of scenario was wrong and toxic. And I say this because I am a white canadian with beauty standards and was sexualized a lot in high school. I kind of felt that was wrong but I really though I needed to be loved by boys so I didn't learn my bounderies were valids. So it's just sad that we still try to normalize all of this in 2026.

Shiny, glossy, plastic. There's nothing about the 1st episode that isn't formulaic, derivative and predictable. You could argue that pantomime is the same thing, but if you ever see one with your kids or a niece or nephew - even the low budget ones have a sense of engagement with what they are doing that this can't even aspire to. The performances are contrived and inauthentic, the main cast seem to think charisma can be faked with swagger. The dialogue is often so contrived and delivered so unconvincingly by people who are clearly reciting some AI inspired word salad it's honestly insulting. There is an example in the first 10 minutes where she's talking with an alleged music teacher about her scholarship...complete drivel. There's no way I could watch another one of these. Don't try.

Off Campus is another modern streaming romance where every few minutes the story stops so attractive people can flirt, hook up, or stare at each other dramatically. It pretends to be about trauma, growth, and college life, but it's just BookTok slop for a 17 year old girl's fantasy of college. Looks like just another glorified sex-and-romance reel that somehow tops the charts while doing very little that's actually new. Couldn't even watch it for more than 50 minutes and all of it was speed running everything to get the gist.

I genuinely don't understand the high rating for this show. I forced myself to finish it and the only reason I kept watching was because of Dean, Logan and Allie.

My biggest issue is the main leads. Garrett has the same smile and expression in almost every situation. Hannah was even more disappointing for me. The acting felt forced in many interactions and the awkward moments never felt natural.

I also think the casting for Hannah was a mistake. The book version gives more of a warm, approachable, girl-next-door vibe, but that energy never came across for me. On top of that, the styling made things worse. Almost every outfit felt wrong for the character and distracted me from the performance.

Allie had more personality and screen presence than the leads, and Dean and Logan were the reason I didn't drop the show.

As someone who watches a lot of romance stories, anime, manhwa and novel adaptations, this story felt extremely basic. The tropes are not new, the romance didn't stand out, and the chemistry between the leads wasn't strong enough to carry the show.

Maybe people who are huge fans of the books will enjoy it more, but as a standalone series I found it very overrated.

Hannah alone makes it hard to watch. Anyone finds her awkward and pretentious as I do? She really doesn't seem like someone Garret would fall in love with.. which makes Garret a good actor

Am I the only one who feels this way? I'm curious whether other viewers also find Hannah awkward and somewhat pretentious, or if I'm missing something that makes her character click for everyone else.

Extremely low-quality TV. The literal level of the short drama series you get on reels as ads or whatever, that's the quality of the story and the script, with just a tiny bit of better acting compared to those. Ugh, I hate that this thing is getting so much hype. I really do not want this to be the future of TV. They have forced a narrative of traumatic experiences without even delving into them, completely forced and artificial. Acting was terribly unconvincing. I hate watching actors and seeing them acting out. After all that the industries have gone through, this really should not be where we are peaking and talking so much that everybody sees it. We should not be encouraging studios to make dumb shows like this. Where is the quality?

Everything about this is terrible.

Terrible: casting, writing, costumes, music, sound, intimate scenes. Awful.

There is zero chemistry between characters (not even the main ones; all of them! Zero!). I have more chemistry with shoes I'm wearing. The writing is terrible - dialogues are unnatural, weird, forced, not funny. And costumes? Can tops can be even more cropped? T-e-r-r-i-b-l-e. Casting - I read books so I expected them to look like... 'them' and they don't. Hannah looks like young Brooke Shields which is a bit disturbing. Their acting? Well... no. And intimacy scenes? Joke.

I'm soooo disappointed. Who green lighted it? Aaa!

It's interesting to see the polarizing reviews- like half the reviews say "awesome" and the other half say "terrible".

I've never read the books.

Because of the half-awesome reviews, I gave it a shot to see if it worked for me.

Unfortunately it did not work for me.

I guess we can't agree on everything.

Too many unnecessary changes from the book.

Characters ruined by changing when they say important things to one another, timing is everything and deciding to say important things after putting someone in a precarious position instead of before, changes the depiction of said characters.

The series would not be a thing if it weren't for the fans of the books, try do better when you are writing for season two please.

I read the books and I loved them. I was so excited for an adaption to be made. But this was cast horribly for everyone besides Dean. I was hoping it was gonna be more like prime videos other projects like Maxton Hall. When they keep it pretty accurate and only makes all changes to make it feel and make more sense for TV. Unfortunately, that was not the case and I'm very disappointed with how bad the casting is. Everyone besides Dean doesn't even remotely look like their characters. On top of that they changed so many things. I love Dean and Allie and their chemistry and moments were really cute in this but it could've waited until the second season or the third. Because this was supposed to be Garrett and Hannah season. And I love the two of them so much and there were so many moments that so many fans were looking forward to that got left out. Their story was completely chopped up and reduced to the point where it doesn't even resemble the book. They had so much emotional depth in the book and all of that was skipped over in the show. So many moments that we love and we're looking forward to seeing like the campus wide hands off rule stuff with Cass, her kissing Dean, them binging breaking bad, wellsy cooking everyone lasagna, all that and more wasn't in the show and it really ruined things for real fans. I understand changing some things to be like a TV show or catered to new fans but we basically completely got rid of Garrett and Hannah's story and reduced it to quick little montages. This is not the characters or stories that us fans know in love, which is totally disrespectful since the show went to it existed without the book fans. And it's really disappointing because I was hopeful. The Prime Video would do a good job. Why make a book adaption if you're not gonna adapt the book? At this point, it's just a show that could be good for people who haven't read the books but anyone who's read the books and is a real fan of the books is not gonna be happy with this so why not make your own new show? If you're gonna change so much about the books you might as well change the character names so book fans can also watch the show and enjoy it and just keep it separate from the book because they're totally different. Overall, I'm very disappointed. I'm praying the windy city series doesn't end up like this, but I just know it's gonna disappoint.
