Easily the most boring movie I've seen in a very long time. The characters come off as being very stupid. And the flashbacks were a distraction and not very informative. I'm not a fan of the web series so maybe this is pleasing to fans of the series. This is a suspense and dramatic story. The trailers before the film were far more interesting and definitely scarier.

Save your money and time, do not watch it. The movie has no sort of plot, it's just an aimless exploration of the back rooms. Of that, there is only two scenes that create a sense of suspense. Besides that, you're just watching your clock estimating how much longer you have until the movies over. I truly only enjoyed 10 mins of the movie.

The "closure" given in the film is merely nothing just the obvious acknowledgement of the existence of the rooms. Aimless pieces given and holes made in the film that aren't explained to keep the "mysterious/no understanding" part of the story. This being the theme of the movie, truly harms the movie itself. The showcase of the rooms and its entirety is good, but the "reason" for certain scenes and lack of "plot" ruin the great story this movie is missing.

Had high expectations and was excited to see something someone so young made. First half was okay, but it very quickly falls off and the nothing burger of an ending is terrible. Seemed to me like they're waiting to milk it for as many more movies as possible. Everyone I've spoken to claims the whole point is that the backrooms are unexplainable, but that's not what movies should be. If you're going to make a movie, it can't just be bullcrap bullcrap bullcrap then half an explanation and done.

My expectations for this film were incredibly high, making it a massive letdown. As a massive horror fanatic, I might be more critical than the average viewer, but this was an agonizingly slow slow burn. The setup for the storyline was far too long and unnecessary. For the most part, the movie was boring and dull, offering nothing but endless dialogue.

When the climax finally arrived, it was neither extraordinary nor horrific. In fact, it leaned so far into unintentional comedy that it completely lost its edge. The ending was incredibly abrupt and sudden. I wasn't alone in my disappointment, everyone around me in the theater was openly discussing just how boring the film was.

The movie expands the lore of an infinite, sickly yellow office maze by treating the alternate reality as an impersonal force of nature that physically replicates and twists human thoughts, traumas, and memories. Well... acting is okay, but everything else is horrible litterally.

Where is plot, or twists? Don't waste your money, don't go! I like the first half it's kinda saves the film but second half is insanely bad. 7.1 is insane 😭 one of the most overrated films of all time WORST CONCLUSION EVER!

I have to agree with the disappointed fans. I had been looking forward to this movie for months ever since it was announced because I found the concept incredibly original and promising for the horror genre. However, I have to say the movie failed on several levels.

First, it didn't do justice to how massive and diverse the Backrooms are. It only showed a handful of spaces, which ended up feeling repetitive and monotonous. I was also hoping for a stronger sense of dread and anxiety that comes from feeling lost in the Backrooms. I wish the movie had leaned more into the psychological side of the horror by exploring more liminal spaces that evoke nostalgia, discomfort, and an eerie sense of peacefulness. To me, that unsettling emotional atmosphere is one of the most unique and compelling aspects of the Backrooms, and it felt largely missing here.

I was also expecting much more suspense, horror, and jump scares, yet there were only a few moments that felt genuinely tense.

The character development felt very shallow. I can see that the movie was trying to tell a more emotional, character-driven story, but it didn't land for me because the characters felt underdeveloped and one-dimensional.

Another issue was the lack of context. I already had a clear understanding of the Backrooms lore because I watched the YouTube series, but everyone I went with who hadn't seen it left the theater confused about what the Backrooms actually were and what the backstory was. I think the movie relied too much on viewers already knowing the lore.

I also wish there had been more suspenseful scenes involving people getting lost in the Backrooms and being chased by creatures. The creatures barely appeared, which made the horror feel underused.

Overall, I left unsatisfied by the limited exploration of the Backrooms, the lack of backstory explanation, and the weak character development.

Kane's vision was interesting and the experimental approach to psych horror was a welcomed change from your typical structure, but unfortunately there wasn't much plot to the story, which could've have actually benefited from your "typical structure." The character development also falls flat, relying on flashbacks and exposition to dig into the psyche of his protagonists. I'm baffled how the film was given a 10 mil dollar budget, especially to a YouTuber with very little experience, whereas Obsession's budget was under 1 mil (a more reasonable budget for a debate feature filmmaker.) Perhaps Kane is better suited for digital format until he grows into a more mature storyteller?

I mean the beginning was good, scary, creepy whatever but the rest of it was a story of a "random guy" who fell into backrooms. It would be so much better If we got a story of the team that researches backrooms.

Also there are plenty of questions in my head. It almost feels like they put random things in the movie to make us think and make up stories. Me and my friend were talking about it and the word that we used the most was "WHY?"

I was very excited of this movie. The intro was pretty good, then it fell down. The characters were bad, their acting was mid. The entity was not so scary for me more like funny, like the rest. The visuals and the design of the backrooms was on top of the world btw. The main story was good, but lots of things were unnecessary. I understand it's not like on the internet like level 999: Run, but still it the rooms were weak, kinda liked the Christmas one. Overall: big hype, bad movie.
