Maybe I am too old, but being 33 I watched cartoons as a kid that were more scary and disturbing than this. I feel you either need to be younger gen Z to like this or pretentious enough to pretend to like it in order to give a high rating. Absolute waste of time. The whole backrooms allegory was poorly executed and poorly understood by the screenwriters and the director apparently.

It was slow and mostly tedious to watch, without a plot you could follow and then ended without logic. Getting sick of these crap movies that suddenly end with a blank screen. It isn't horror unless for a 5-year-old scared of the dark. This maybe exciting for those who played the computer game, but they most likely have limited vision of reality anyway.

This got 7? Seriously? How? This was super boring. The first half is good but the second half ruined the movie. What was the plot of this movie? I have no idea what this was about? I mean, have people watched the cube? Same concept but it was so much better. This was incredibly slow and very artsy. You build a world with no point to it. One of the stupidest and pointless movies ive ever seen. Way too much hype and wuite exhausting. Thumbs down.

One of the most disappointing films in recent years, this production fell short in all aspects, including acting, set design, and special effects. It is strongly advised to avoid this film and instead watch it when it becomes available for free streaming. Save your money because this film seriously disappoints.

I consider myself pretty open-minded when it comes to movies. I enjoy mystery, psychological themes, symbolism, and stories that explore the human mind. A film doesn't need to explain everything to be good.

But Backrooms is where I draw the line.

This isn't mysterious. It isn't deep. It isn't thought-provoking. It's simply a film that goes absolutely nowhere.

For nearly two hours, the audience is dragged through endless hallways, repetitive imagery, and vague scenes that seem to exist purely for the sake of being vague. There is no meaningful story, no character development, no emotional connection, and no payoff. The movie keeps hinting that something important is happening, but it never actually delivers.

I'm perfectly fine with ambiguity when there is something underneath it. Here, there isn't. The film mistakes confusion for substance and repetition for atmosphere. It constantly teases significance without ever earning it.

The result is a frustrating experience that feels more like watching someone's dream journal than an actual movie. I kept waiting for a revelation, a twist, a point, or even a reason to care. None ever arrived.

Some people will probably call this "art" or praise its atmosphere. That's fine. But atmosphere alone cannot carry a film when there is no story worth telling.

I love mystery. I love psychological horror. I love movies that challenge the audience. This movie does none of those things. It just wanders aimlessly through empty rooms and expects the viewer to mistake that for depth.

A tedious, self-indulgent, and ultimately pointless experience.

Really a waste of money. The horror is basically non-existent. Nothing makes sense, the first half is a sleeper, and while I get the idea behind what it was supposed to be, it just didn't work out well. I was tired of this movie 30 minutes in. Don't waste your money OR time on such garbage. I can't believe people rate this above 6 stars. It could've been so much better if the story wasn't all over the place.

The only reason I give it 2 stars is because the idea of the distortion and derealization had potential, but the rest wasn't good.

That was honestly one of the most boring "horror" movies I have ever had the displeasure of watching. They spent an hour and 20 mins doing practically nothing and had an eventful final 20 mins. This had the potential to be one of the, if not the best, crazy, trippy movie but I fear they failed terribly. I wouldn't recommend wasting your time and money on this movie, you'd be better off waiting for it to be on tv. The cinema seemed to be in the same boat as me and my boyfriend complaining that they'd wasted money and 2 hours of their lives.

One of the worst movies I've seen in my life I'm so confused on why no one else was saying or warning others about it. Do not go see this movie, especially if you have to pay to see it. I am really confused on why no one else is talking about how terrible this movie is to other people. The first 15 minutes or so does make you feel like it is going to be a good suspenseful movie and then I completely loses the plot.
